•We’re looking for an eager Technical Writer Intern to join the Tecsys team for a 4-month internship position in the Winter of 2025. •This internship will run from January 6th through May 2nd, 2025. •As a co-op student on the Tecsys Elite Documentation Team, you will work very closely with other Technical Writers, and Research & Development (R&D) teams. •You will have the opportunity to experience the entire release process and be involved in developing content for internal users, end users, administrators, and developers. •We are a small documentation team covering a wide range of applications under the Elite™ umbrella. •You will get exposure to applications ranging from warehouse management to hospital point of use. •Copy edit existing documentation •Work with AI tools to enhance documentation •Create customer documentation from user stories •Create sample scenarios using new features and take screenshots •Create short videos explaining new features •Work with source files in a GIT repository •Update company-facing documentation for internal users •Assist in developing and maintaining a taxonomy •Participating in meetings with QA, developers and product managers •Create image maps from existing images •Assist in managing localization projects

Requirements

•Strong writing skills (we will want to see examples preferably of a technical nature •Strong communication skills •Willingness to learn and take a proactive approach •Curious technical aptitude – you don’t need to be a developer, but you do need to know how to communicate effectively and understand baseline concepts •Experience with authoring tools •Strong multitasker •Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec. This role also requires you to be fully bilingual in both French and English. •Understanding of structured authoring •Exposure to structured authoring tools (oXygen, Structured FrameMaker, XMetaL) •Exposure to DITA concepts •Familiarity with agile software development practices •Familiarity with basic Git operations (committing, merging, branching) •Exposure to REST APIs •Exposure to Eclipse •Strong understanding of French
