📋 Description

• The Athletic is a digital sports media company that brings true sports fans closer to the athletes, teams and leagues that captivate their attention. • The Athletic is looking for an energetic, motivated football data writer to work in its expanding betting vertical, on a freelance basis through May 2025. • The right candidate will produce and use tactical analysis, data, visualisations and more to complement and tell stories around the sport. • This is a national role covering professional football tactics & analytics as a whole.

🎯 Requirements

• High level of professionalism; driven and motivated. • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). • High-end knowledge of European football, specifically data and tactics. • Ability to work effectively with colleagues. • Creative thinking skills. • Highlight wider tactical/stats trends so the editorial team is aware of them. • Ability to work in our central London office. Combination of office-based and remote working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. • Flexible and understanding that the job involves some evening and weekend work.
