Description

• Responsible for reviewing dental claims and predetermination treatment plans involving dental services. • Determine reasonableness of treatment related to plan contract provisions, dental plan benefits, and claims administration. • Review radiographic images, chart notes, narratives, and other diagnostic tools. • Responsible for appealing requests and identifying trends and educational needs related to care delivery. • Provide timely responses and effectively communicate clinical opinions of reviews. • Work directly with Dental Claim Review staff, Medical Directors, and Health Care Professionals.

Requirements

• Must maintain an active dental license to practice dentistry in the state of employment. • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in private practice outside of academia. • Thorough knowledge of oral health care and experience in dentistry. • Preferred experience with professional claim (utilization) review. • Knowledge of community standards of oral health care delivery and dental care benefit administration. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Capable of quickly learning various IT systems. • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
