📋 Description

• The position falls within the Substation Department of the organization. • The Lead Engineer will prepare and review advanced one line diagrams, project scopes, and cost estimates for substation projects. • They will conduct resource planning, oversight, and the assignment of tasks and projects to resources in coordination with other managers. • Engineer and design lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement and repair for substations. • Make necessary changes and corrections to drawings and documentation. • Verify the proper use of equipment and material according to project documentation standards and codes. • Verify that material and equipment are ordered and delivered on time for substation construction. • Travel to project sites for walk downs and gathering information to develop the correct requirements for the projects to scope and develop substations. • Function as a project lead for substation projects. • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department, or those external to complete substation projects. • Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees. • Identify and initiate corrective action when substation project objectives are not being met. • Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects. • Promote engineering professionalism and standards. • Develop, recommends, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include scheduling, resources, cost and quality management information for complex engineering. • Position requires 20-25% travel (travel to company locations and to client/job sites as needed).

🎯 Requirements

• Must have a proven background of building client relationships. • 8+ years of relevant work experience • Experience assisting in operational functions (interviewing, volunteering for career fairs, covering staff meetings, being a part of committee's, etc.) • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution will count toward years of experience • A PE and/or P.Eng License is required
