• Torch is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to support our mission of empowering individuals and organizations through enhanced digital experiences. • This role will focus on developing and leading our web applications to create engaging and effective user interfaces. • The Staff Engineer - Full Stack will have a deep understanding of frontend and backend technologies, particularly React, Python, and Ruby, and modern design patterns essential for creating scalable, responsive, and visually compelling web applications. • They will be well-versed in the nuances of web performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility, ensuring that our applications not only meet but also exceed the highest standards of user experience. • This role requires a talented engineer who can inspire and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and collaboration.

🎯 Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent practical knowledge. • Expertise in Python or Ruby (Ruby on Rails), JavaScript (React) and TypeScript, providing a holistic approach to web development. • Experience driving teams in delivering multiple highly impactful projects. • Comprehensive understanding of various testing methodologies, ensuring thorough coverage and high-quality user experiences. • Commitment to delivering pixel-perfect UI and upholding accessibility standards. • Skilled in building and utilizing RESTful web services. • Background in developing and sustaining design systems and design libraries. • Understanding of distributed application design patterns and asynchronous programming models. • Working familiarity with Datadog or similar tools for performance monitoring, error detection and debugging • Familiar with both relational and non-relational databases. • Knowledge of and adherence to security best practices. • Experience implementing LLM/AI into real world applications. • Proficiency with Git and cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
