• The primary role of the Fixed Income Investment Specialist (IS) - Insurance Solutions is to partner with professionals to service and develop relationships within the insurance sector. • Engage in a consultative manner with insurance clients on regulatory restraints, capital requirements, asset-liability management and strategic asset allocation considerations. • Partner with insurance portfolio managers to help create custom portfolio solutions. • Required travel to meet clients across the US, with occasional global travel.
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and significant, relevant work experience. • 10 + years of relevant insurance industry experience, either at a US insurance company or within the insurance segment of an established asset management company. • Fluency with asset/liability and risk budgeting frameworks used by insurance companies in determining their overall asset allocation. • Deep understanding of the underlying actuarial, accounting, and regulatory issues that drive investment management decision-making. • Deep knowledge of the unique investment objectives and buying behaviors across the insurance industry and broad and deep understanding of fixed income markets specifically. • Must have a passion for the investment business with a deep understanding of investment concepts and have a strong working knowledge of investment strategies and tactics used to managed insurance assets. • Demonstrated track record of success in effectively communicating complex concepts to a wide variety of audiences. • Exceptional relationship management skills with ability to interact well with portfolio managers, other investment professionals, sales and client service professionals, and institutional clients and consultants. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. • Ability to work well within a collegial, but fast paced and unstructured environment. • Highly motivated and a self-starter. • Possess a high level of personal integrity and a passion for achieving competitive results. • Possess a high energy level and drive to succeed coupled with the poise and temperament necessary to work effectively in a team environment. • Advanced degree and/or CFA preferred - FINRA Requirements
