• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring each entry is accurate and compliant with established accounting standards, while regularly identifying and correcting any discrepancies. • Prepare and process detailed journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure smooth month-end and year-end closing activities, supporting the overall accuracy of financial reporting. • Generate and analyze comprehensive financial reports using BizInsight, providing key insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. • Manage the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, including processing invoices, reconciling payments, and maintaining effective communication with vendors to resolve any issues promptly. • Assist in the detailed preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring all reports are accurate, complete, and submitted within established timelines. • Conduct thorough account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain the integrity and reliability of the organization’s financial data. • Utilize Sage accounting software daily to manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and easily accessible for reporting purposes. • Support internal and external audits by meticulously providing all necessary documentation and clear explanations for financial transactions, ensuring compliance and transparency. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline and optimize financial processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with overall organizational goals. • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within accounting processes, implementing best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function. • Perform other duties and support deliverables as assigned by the organization to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrating a solid academic foundation in financial principles. • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role, with hands-on expertise in BizInsight and Sage, ensuring accurate financial reporting and data analysis. • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and general ledger management, with a focus on maintaining compliance and accuracy. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools, alongside proficiency in other accounting software. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precise financial data and effective issue resolution. • Strong organizational and time management skills, adept at prioritizing multiple tasks, managing deadlines, and maintaining a structured work approach in a fast-paced environment. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, and clearly convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders. • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity and professionalism; CPA certification is a plus but not required, reflecting a commitment to ongoing professional development.
