📋 Description

•Upstart is a leading AI lending marketplace partnering with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit. •The Database Engineering team is responsible for all of the AWS RDS infrastructure which powers our loans. •You will lead the way in developing tools and processes for software engineers to help them develop better data models to support our data quality initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

•Have 8+ years of experience in a Senior Database Engineer/DBA role using Postgres, preferably some of this is using AWS RDS •Advanced knowledge of data modeling techniques for RDMS •Strong experience in optimizing sql queries and techniques for improving data workflows •Experience implementing data governance initiatives in the application layer (quality, privacy, retention etc) •Have knowledge of Postgres extensions and performance optimization techniques. •Are familiar with Postgres scalability solutions and can use this knowledge to guide design discussions •Have knowledge of fundamental AWS building blocks (EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC) •Are comfortable working in high-security / high-compliance environments, such as finance or healthcare •Have relevant technical skills (scripting, SQL, Unix command line tools) •Have experience mentoring and collaborating with Software Engineers on Data Modeling best practices •Level will depend on total experience
