📋 Description

• The Principal Machine Learning Engineer (PMLE) will serve as a key technical leader within US Foods’ Machine Learning Operations team and will help drive our advancements in AI and Generative AI. • They will provide thought leadership across our Analytics & Data Science organization and work closely with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and business leaders to design, develop, and deploy industry-leading AI solutions. • Recognized as an ML expert, the Principal ML Engineer will collaborate with the Principal Data Scientist to establish and enforce best practices to ensure consistency and scalability of our models and applications our sellers, merchandisers and customers depend on. • The Principal Machine Learning Engineer will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the development and deployment of ML models, ensuring an efficient transition from lab to production. • The Principal ML Engineer will also guide our ML Ops team in building and automating ML CI/CD pipelines, containerizing models, orchestrating workflows, and monitoring production workloads.

🎯 Requirements

• Must possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience with ML frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), cloud computing, data processing, API development, ML Ops, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and coding languages • Must possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum, version control (Git), SQL/NoSQL, orchestration tools (Airflow/Dagster), and serverless technologies • Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI including a proven track record delivering projects from conception to production • Deep understanding of ML and Deep Learning algorithms, ML system design and architecture, model development lifecycle, and distributed computing • Experience with experimentation, A/B tests, and causal inference • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to present effectively to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership • Up 5% travel required
