Description

• Veracross provides SaaS-based School Information Systems (SIS) designed for K-12 schools. • Join remote-friendly, distributed engineering team improving Student Billing and Accounting products. • Role requires backend engineering with strong SQL skills, focused on database layer. • Help manage complex workflows into a streamlined system for school staff and families. • Provide mentorship, improve Ruby on Rails applications, and expand internal tools. • Enable product areas like Admissions and Fundraising to leverage payments platform.

Requirements

• Understanding of core accounting standards and concepts, including but not limited to: GAAP, General Ledger, and Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable. • Experience with accounting applications, such as Quickbooks, Freshbooks, Xero, or Sage. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Excellent technical organization and planning skills. • The ability to perform technical responsibilities remotely in a mostly asynchronous environment. • The ability to be flexible and adaptable. • 4+ years of professional programming experience. • Experience with the Ruby language, Rails framework, or similar languages and technologies; experience with modern JavaScript development a plus. • Experience with relational databases. • Experience with source control, especially git. • A service- and team-oriented mindset. • US Citizenship. • Experience with tuition management software. • Experience with payment processing applications.
