📋 Description
• Voleon is a technology company that applies machine learning to real-world finance problems. • As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the technical and managerial oversight of your team. • You will lead a high-performing team responsible for key data technologies and services. • Your team will design, build and maintain systems and tools for a world-class data platform. • You will ensure implementation of correct and precise solutions to complex problems. • You will work with Engineering leaders to execute on your vision for your team. • You will grow and scale your team according to a roadmap you develop and own. • You'll develop individual engineers, balancing diverse requirements for the best outcomes.
🎯 Requirements
• 2+ years of people management experience • 5+ years of software engineering experience • Demonstrated history of management of engineering teams and senior engineers • Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to explain complex ideas with clarity and simplicity • Proven ability to hire and retain exceptional engineers • Software design and implementation with focus on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and maintainability • Expertise in modern programming languages, such as Python, Go, Java, or C++ • Experience with data storage and management technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, Redis) • Familiarity with job scheduling and orchestration technologies (e.g. Airflow, Slurm) • Design and implementation of scalable services and APIs, highly-available systems, and/or large-scale data infrastructure • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage, technologies, and development methodologies • Computer Science Degree, or equivalent experience
