Description

• Own the creation, documentation, alignment and verification of vehicle platform requirements at Waabi and define ways for how to describe and evaluate them efficiently and effectively. • Bring an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving vehicles and drive an architecture with requirements that generate a simple yet very safe highly autonomous vehicle platform. • Act as a central point of contact at Waabi for specific vehicle platform requirements and related tests and communicate updates, progress and potential roadblocks to stakeholders at all levels. • Help drive Waabi’s safety culture through application of safety standards and methodologies in your area of responsibility across all supporting teams at Waabi including Systems Engineering, Hardware and Software. • Define necessary improvements for our highly realistic simulator to effectively verify most vehicle platform aspects under all required conditions and work with other teams at Waabi to get these improvements designed and implemented. • Own the writing and tracking of tests and test executions in line with company project milestones. • Continuously evaluate and enhance Waabi’s vehicle platform capabilities, look for novel approaches, identify and apply lessons learned and ensure a detailed and comprehensive documentation that is easily accessible. • Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the vehicle platform requirement processes where applicable. • Work with external partners on delivering a safe vehicle platform that has been verified and validated to support a strong safety case for the complete self-driving system.

Requirements

• Undergrad required; Masters or PhD within an engineering discipline preferred. • 3+ years of automotive, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience. • Experience with requirements-specifications and metrics. • Experience with executing complex vehicle test campaigns. • Experience with methods and standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF (ISO 21448) and / or UL 4600. • Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics. • Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab. • Open-minded and collaborative leader who is eager to provide guidance and has the willingness to help others. • Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions. • Experience with vehicle actuation (brakes, steering, propulsion).
