Description

• The Research Administrator (RA) will support research proposals in the centralized Pre-Award unit in the Engineering Dean’s Office. • Perform timely, high-quality and coordinated research administrative services to principal investigators (PIs). • Manage high-volume, high-profile, multi-PI projects from various external sponsors. • Supports faculty, center directors, and staff throughout the pre-award stage of sponsored projects. • Manages budgeting, analysis, justifications for proposals; gathers information for protocols and non-technical proposal components. • Responsible for internal controls and compliance with Federal, University, School, and Departmental policies and procedures. • Liaison between the Chair, Faculty, and Department Administrators. • Stays current on federal and university developments regarding research administration and complex regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. • Relevant Experience (4 Years) • Grants Administration (2 Years) • Preferred: Experience with grant proposals from federal agency sponsors (DoE, USDA, EPA) • Well-versed in systems from federal agencies (Grants.gov, Research.gov) • Competency in Washington University’s Research Management System (RMS) • Familiarity with Foreign National requirements and documentation.
