Description

• Work with engineers, designers, product and stakeholders to execute on the new vision for Yahoo.com and the Yahoo News website • Manage and lead engineers and managers in the team, provide leadership and direction • Design technical solutions for complex problems and lead the implementation • Lead and coordinate engineers activities; Be responsible for their delivery and meeting goals • Review their work for quality and provide mentoring, coaching • Plan, prioritize the work for the team quarterly and execute them based on sprint schedule • Accountable for performance, results of the team • Influence partner teams and deliver results meeting the objectives of the organization • Support establishment and execution of organizational priorities

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with strong understanding of fundamentals including Data Structures, Algorithms, OS and Networking • 8+ years experience in software development with Javascript, ReactJS or other modern JS framework • 5+ years experience in owning, designing components of large scale system • 5+ years experience in managing engineers and leading a team • Demonstrated problem solving skills and taking initiatives • Experience with common JS testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Chai) • Familiarity with JS linting tools (e.g., ESLint) • Proven experience with launching and managing web applications • Strong understanding of Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) and its implementation • Proficiency in troubleshooting network errors and debugging issues • Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines • Knowledge of AWS ECS Fargate for container orchestration • Proficiency with AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and logging • Experience with NGINX as a web server and reverse proxy • Hands-on experience with Next.js for server-side rendering and static site generation • Proficiency with React and modern React testing frameworks (e.g., React Testing Library, Enzyme) • Familiarity with TurboRepo for managing monorepos • Ability to work with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
