• Explore data sources and develop new Property Tech and InsurTech models with data science, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning • Implement deep learning algorithms and architectures that extract insights from aerial imagery, satellite imagery, and geospatial data • Research and model aspects of property risk utilizing imagery, hazard data, geospatial data, and other data sources • Lead high-quality dataset development for robust model training and evaluation • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate product management, engineering, and business constraints and inquiries into actionable data science questions
• At least 2-3 years of experience applying machine learning techniques, including experience across computer vision applications and predictive modeling • BA / BS / BEng degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other related fields. MS degree or Ph.D. is certainly a bonus • Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and AI principles • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing deep learning models and/or machine learning models • Experience deploying predictive or deep learning models in production environments • Proficiency in Python, along with experience using deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and related libraries (e.g., OpenCV, Pillow, Matplotlib, Plotly) • Understanding of data preprocessing and augmentation techniques for large-scale image datasets (bonus if you’ve already worked with aerial or satellite imagery) • Experience working with cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows • Experience working with SQL, BigQuery • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment • Strong organizational and management skills with experience implementing best practices and processes • Strong communication skills • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
