Description

• Facilitate base building including organizing, recruitment, and engagement of parents and schools. • Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders. • Manage a system to track parent and community organizing efforts. • Plan and coordinate organizing and advocacy opportunities. • Support and guide parent leadership teams through issue organizing cycles. • Draft and disseminate regular communications to advocates and allies. • Use online tools for advocacy campaigns. • Organize logistics for electoral advocacy. • Represent GACAN at local events as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong experience successfully building relationships in a role such as a community/parent/adult organizer. • Experience in parent recruitment or engagement in traditional or charter schools. • Knowledge of the charter school landscape in Metro Atlanta. • Achieved tangible successes based on organizational goals and/or priorities. • The ability to work as a team and foster collaboration with colleagues. • Proficiency in facilitating workshops and trainings. • Preferred: A strong passion for advocating for charter schools and school choice options. • Proficiency in writing styles necessary to communicate professionally.
