📋 Description

• Acuity Brands is seeking a Senior Cloud Software engineer to join its Cloud Center of Excellence department. • You will bring your passion for working with a diverse array of engineering teams to help them create, manage, and evolve the technical health and capability of Acuity’s software products and services. • Overall, the team’s scope is broad, covering the end-to-end developer experience. • The senior software engineer role is an opportunity to apply your unique combination of engineering skills, and empathy for broken processes and tools to continuously improve software development at Acuity Brands. • Work with a variety of engineering teams to understand their pain points, define, execute a plan to address them, and iterate.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years of professional software development or automation experience in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Golang. • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems • Experience using scripting tools such as Bash and PowerShell to automate tasks • Experience deploying or operating software services on public cloud providers like Azure, AWS, and GCP • Experience with Kubernetes and Containers • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Grafana, Kiali, Prometheus, Log Workspaces, and PagerDuty • Experience with running, operating, and maintaining production systems • Preferred Skills and Experience • Experience with a wide variety of build and deployment tools and methodologies • Experience working with, and contributing back to, open-source projects • Experience working with or operating highly available distributed systems at scale • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent
