• Who we are: • At Alignable, we believe that small businesses are stronger together. • Our mission is to empower business owners to harness the full potential of their networks by creating a trusted online platform where authentic relationships thrive. • Alignable is a remote-first, mission-driven, Series C growth-stage startup dedicated to helping small businesses gain a competitive edge. • As the largest business networking platform in North America, Alignable connects over 9 million business owners across 30,000+ communities. • By fostering genuine, high-value connections, Alignable helps small business owners break through barriers, find new opportunities, and grow with confidence. • What you will be doing: • As Alignable’s first Controller, you’ll have a high-impact role in shaping our financial operations, optimizing processes, and laying the foundation for scalable growth. • This is more than just a Controller role—it’s a rare opportunity to step into a fast-growing, mission-driven company at a pivotal inflection point. • If you’re coming from public accounting or industry finance, this role offers the broad exposure and hands-on experience you won’t find in a traditional, siloed corporate environment. • If you're looking for a fast-paced, high-growth startup where you can build, optimize, and scale financial operations while accelerating your career, this is your chance to make a real impact—and grow alongside Alignable. • What success looks like: • Financial operations & reporting: • Own general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close (QuickBooks). • Oversee payroll processing and financial recordkeeping (TriNet). • Manage expense tracking, subscription audits, and financial reporting. • Handle commission structures and Stripe revenue reporting. • Support tax filings, audits, and investor reporting. • Strategic financial analysis & decision support: • Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights. • Advise senior leadership with financial recommendations that drive business success. • Assist in budgeting & forecasting to optimize financial planning and resource allocation. • Risk management & scalability: • Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and risk mitigation.

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4, Tier 1, or Tier 2 firm) or industry finance • CPA preferred (or strong financial expertise with a deep understanding of GAAP & compliance) • Proven hands-on accounting skills (debits/credits, reconciliations, month-end close) • Experience with AI-driven finance tools and automation • Experience with financial tools (QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, Stripe; TriNet a plus) • Detail-oriented and process-driven, with a knack for optimizing financial operations • Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced startup • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with leadership
