• Allergan Data Labs is on a mission to transform the Allergan Aesthetics beauty business at AbbVie. • Manage, lead by example, and mentor a team of 5+ Engineers to deliver high quality code. • Dive deep into PR reviews and pair coding sessions to level up the team. • Onboard as a backend engineer and look for high leverage opportunities to write code yourself. • Help shape on call rotation processes and train your team to be effective incident responders. • Elevate the quality of engineering across the organization by conducting code reviews, leading design sessions, and encouraging automation. • Build the Data Labs engineering brand through blog posts, culture, and open-source projects.

Requirements

• Total industry experience of 12+ years desired of which 8+ years working as a Software Engineer or Architect. Experience as a manager is a plus but not required, however you must have previously worked as a tech lead. • You are experienced in developing production-grade applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js OR similar technologies. • Hands-on experience designing, creating and maintaining data pipelines using established workflow frameworks such as Airflow or Prefect (or similar). • Experience building and scaling APIs with either GraphQL and Apollo or REST • Proficient with SQL and NoSQL flavors like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB. This includes proven experience in debugging RDBMS query performance. • Proficient building cloud-native architectures in AWS or similar. You understand when to use Serverless/Lambda, but you also know where servers and Kubernetes can have their place. • Exposure to front-end frameworks like React and NextJS • Exposure to mobile applications using React Native or Native for iOS and Android • You understand infrastructure as code using Terraform, Consul, CI/CD, and other tools. • You’ve set up successful test suites to cover unit, integration, e2e, load, and security tests. • You’ve worked in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams and rely on proven management methodologies.Excellent communication, presentation, and white-boarding skills. • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field; or comparable experience.
