📋 Description

• Provide effective legal representation and handle moderately complex litigation. • Report to senior manager, legal. • Handle files and issues of a more complex nature with higher levels of dollar exposure. • Communicate with client regarding file status and progress. • Analyze file as litigation progresses as well as risk to the company. • Evaluate cases and seek settlement as necessary. • Draft all necessary pleadings, papers, and briefs to advance litigation activities. • Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities. • Advocate client position in all forums. • Negotiate effectively in the resolution of all issues. • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how they affect the interpretation of policy provisions. • May develop areas of specialty practice.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service. • Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions and discovery and deposing witnesses. • Demonstrated litigation experience. • Solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the jurisdiction in which they practice. • Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law. • Admitted to the state bar in the state where they are located or bar admission as soon as practicable but no later than 60 days of hire for individuals with diploma privilege or eligible for in-house counsel registration. • Juris Doctor. • Previous in-house trial experience strongly preferred.
