📋 Description
• Advise Ancestry’s business on privacy law in a dynamic environment • Apply complex privacy legal frameworks to new products • Provide privacy legal advice to various internal teams • Identify and mitigate legal risks • Develop privacy governance frameworks • Perform privacy impact and legitimate interest assessments • Negotiate privacy aspects of commercial contracts • Assist in developing Ancestry’s privacy compliance program • Work cross-functionally to ensure business-wide privacy compliance • Contribute to data protection training and awareness programs
🎯 Requirements
• A qualified EU or UK lawyer with 5+ years of relevant post-qualification privacy legal experience (at a law firm or as in-house counsel) • In-depth knowledge of international privacy laws, particularly the GDPR • Excellent multi-tasker with strong organisational and communications skills • Strong contract drafting skills and attention to detail • Familiarity with AI/ML and AI legislation, such as the EU AI Act (desirable but not essential) • Experience supporting security incident situations, notifications and communications with regulators and data subjects (desirable but not essential) • At least one IAPP certification (desirable but not essential)
