Description

• Associate Software Engineer role focused on Anthology's LMS, Blackboard • Involves developing web and mobile solutions for educational users • Participate in agile practices including stand-ups and code reviews • Troubleshoot live production environments and minimize downtime • Work with AI technology to enhance development efficiency • Responsible for Java and REST API expertise

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience designing, writing, and deploying scalable software • Light experience developing single-page JavaScript applications and in frameworks such as React, Redux, or Angular • Light experience with Java and common Java frameworks • Light experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and web application development • Any experience with Object-Oriented design and coding • Knowledge of domain-driven design and Service-Oriented architecture • Quick learner with strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Light exposure to writing unit and integration tests • Ability to work with engineers on cross-functional agile projects • An understanding of data structures, algorithm analysis, and design skills • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience (preferred) • Previous experience in the education industry and with e-learning technologies (preferred) • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services and serverless technologies (Kubernetes, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Aurora, Lambda, Event Bridge) (preferred) • Knowledge of Web Services (REST API), authentication, CI/CD lifecycles and pipelines (preferred) • Light experience with test-driven development (preferred)
