• Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, fueling customer success with cloud storage built purposefully to unlock budgets, unburden administrators, and unleash innovators. • Founded in 2007, we scaled the business with less than $3 million in outside funding until 2021, when we did a traditional IPO on the Nasdaq stock exchange. • Today, Backblaze generates over $100m in revenue and is the leading specialized storage cloud - managing over three billion gigabytes of data storage for 500K+ customers in 175+ countries. • We’re seeking a thoughtful and detail-oriented HRIS Manager to lead, optimize, and scale our HR technology and compliance programs. • You’ll serve as the technical owner of our HR systems, ensuring data integrity, seamless integrations, and reporting accuracy across the employee lifecycle. • You’ll also partner cross-functionally to uphold the compliance posture of a public company, supporting internal controls, documentation, and annual audits. • You’ll thrive in this role if you love building intelligent systems, enjoy solving puzzles with data, and care deeply about operational excellence and compliance.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in HRIS, HR operations, or people analytics roles, ideally within a public company or in a compliance-driven environment • Experience with optimizing core HR systems (experience with ADP Workforce Now, Rippling, Etrade, etc. strongly preferred) • A working knowledge of employment regulations, HR compliance programs, and public company audit processes • Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with people data analysis and reporting • High attention to detail, experience with project management, and documentation skills • Collaborative working style and a desire to build efficient, people-centered processes and a solutions-oriented attitude • Comfortable with change and eager to grow with evolving systems and company needs • Nice to Have: Experience supporting SOX or SOC 2 audits • Exposure to compensation, equity, or payroll systems and processes
