📋 Description

• Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, the Project Lead, Food Security promotes the values, principles, and service standards of the Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC). • This is a 2-year term position that focuses on developing, managing, and evaluating projects that enhance access to nutritious food and promote community resilience. • The Project Lead, Food Security is responsible for project management, stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and capacity-building. • Provide technical support to the design of food security projects. • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all food security projects. • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets. • Collaborate with community groups, local partners, government agencies, and donors to build effective partnerships. • Organize and lead regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates. • Oversee data collection and analysis to monitor project progress, outcomes, and impact. • Identify potential risks related to project implementation and develop mitigation strategies. • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of funds.

🎯 Requirements

• Post Secondary education in international development, agriculture, food security, or related fields. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management. • Preference will be given to those with experience in food security within the non-profit sector. • Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including budget management and reporting. • Strong understanding of food security, resilience and nutrition. • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies. • Experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks for development projects. • Ability to manage budgets and report on financial performance to donors. • Exceptional writing skills and ability to produce content quickly for executive communications and public consumption. • Strong critical thinking and adaptability in complex and changing environments.
