📋 Description

• We're looking for an experienced engineer to join our remote-only company. • Our software powers the production Kubernetes infrastructure of companies around the world. • You will own extending the Linkerd proxy layer to run natively on Windows. • This role calls for an experienced, strongly self-motivated person. • We are a remote-only company that relies heavily on writing to communicate ideas. • This role requires excellent written communication skills. • As a key member of the Buoyant Engineering team, your responsibilities will include designing and implementing complex network I/O redirection. • Write C/C++ code that runs natively on Microsoft Windows OS, including user space and kernel drivers. • Develop cloud native software in Rust and Go that runs at-scale in Kubernetes environments. • Ensure performance, correctness, and maintainability of Linkerd across multiple requirements.

🎯 Requirements

• 3 or more years developing system-level software for Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows Kernel Mode Development • 5 or more years of system-level development experience in the areas of interprocess communication (IPC), TCP/IP networking • Strong proficiency in Internet infrastructure (e.g. DNS, routers/firewalls, etc.) • 5 or more years of design, development, delivery and support of mission-critical software systems • Experience or strong desire to work with Kubernetes, containers, and other cloud-native technologies • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a desire to work effectively with cross-functional teams
