• Junior structural engineer role for experience designing ship structures • Part of a team providing structural designs and solutions for US Navy and USCG ships • Use AutoCAD to develop structural drawings • Learn customer requirements for structural drawing development • Work with engineers from other disciplines to develop structural drawings • Attend ship checks to collect information • Apply structural formulas to verify strength of designs • Learn to model and analyze ship structures using finite element software • Document methods, assumptions, and results in reports • Perform reviews for Contract Specification SOWs, Regulatory, and technical compliance
• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field • Experience drafting basic, to-scale layout drawings using AutoCAD • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Detail-oriented • Good analytical skills • Ability to speak and write clearly in English • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time • U.S. Citizenship • Security clearance eligibility • (Desired) Experience or internship in marine industry and/or defense industry • (Desired) Knowledge of marine rules, standards, and codes • (Desired) Proficiency with 3-D CAD, such as Solidworks • (Desired) Experience performing ship calculations or structural design/calculations
