• Junior structural engineer role providing structural designs and solutions for US Navy and USCG ships • Use AutoCAD to develop structural drawings for new and existing ships • Learn customer requirements and work with structural engineers • Apply structural formulas to verify strength of designs • Model and analyze ship structures using finite element software
• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field • Experience drafting basic, to-scale layout drawings using AutoCAD • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Detail-oriented • Good analytical skills • Ability to speak and write clearly in English • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time • U.S. Citizenship • Security clearance eligibility • Experience or internship in marine industry and/or defense industry is desired • Knowledge of marine rules, standards, and codes is desired • Proficiency with 3-D CAD, such as Solidworks is desired • Experience performing ship calculations or structural design/calculations is desired
