•Responsible for the purchase of construction contracts and materials for all projects. •Reviews and negotiates suggested changes to master contract agreement and purchase order’s term and conditions for MCM and all affiliated companies. •Reviews and evaluate vendor bids: considering price, lead time, past performance, etc. to determine successful bidder that is in compliance with plans and/or specifications MCM and all affiliated companies. •Reviews all required qualifications and scope of contracts to assure complete scopes. •Ensures awarded contracts/purchase orders are processed timely in order to meet project schedule. •Attends networking events and/or career fairs to promote company’s profile and to maximize subcontractor pool. •Reviews and qualifies subcontractor’s pre-qualification forms. •Expert interpersonal relations in order to effectively resolve conflict. •Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems essentials. •Advanced knowledge of procurement/ vendor inspection techniques and requirements, accounting, financial management and business contract law required. •Creating and managing the departmental budget. •Supervises and directs of clerical staff and delegates work with clear instruction and verification after completion to clerical staff when necessary. •Establishes and maintains working contact with Subcontractors/Vendors. •Review work authorization forms and ensure agreement clarity and compliance with Contract Documents. •Updates buyout sheets and contract status report as projects are bought out. •Keeps track of uncommitted purchase orders and confirm that they are brought to closure. •Reviews and monitors MRF's for accuracy and value. •Shows high level of organization skills creating an organized, clean and professional office environment. •Steers the development and maintenance of departmental file structure. •Attends public speaking courses in order to improve leadership and communication skills. •Effectively designs and implements training programs. •Review plans and specifications for completeness, conflicts and agreement between disciplines. •Provides suggestions for value engineering. •Collaborates with Chief Estimator throughout estimating process. •Reviews bid summaries for to ensure inclusion of correct subcontractor base. •Creates spreadsheets for comparative analysis as needed. •Reviews and qualifies Subcontractor’s proposals. •Analytical focus for problem solving. •Ability to performs material and labor take-offs from plans, for bids, review of proposals, or material •procurement associated with change proposals (CPRS's) •Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Expedition, HCSS, and Takeoff Software •Expert in Timberline PO module.
•Four (4) year Bachelors degree in Business and/or Construction plus five (5) years construction experience. •5-8 years estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience (at least 4 years estimating experience) in similar facility construction.
