Description

• Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases for various clients with a very active support staff (2:1 assignment ratio) • Conduct legal research to build effective defense strategies. • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date. • Provide legal representation for employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation hearings and trials. • Communicate with clients to understand their goals and expectations. • Analyze claims to determine the merits of a defense and provide legal advice to clients. • Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements. • Negotiate settlements with opposing parties or their legal representatives. • Represent clients in workers' compensation hearings, trials, and appeals.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of California Worker's Compensation law • 1+ years experience in workers' compensation defense litigation • Ability to work independently and remotely • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Admission in good standing to the State Bar of California • Experience taking an applicant's deposition and taking/defending a doctor’s deposition • Experience appearing for all WC hearings (status conference, priority conference, MSC, and lien conference).
