Description

• Uses specialized knowledge and expertise to lead, implement, maintain, monitor, and ensure performance of the most complex databases. • Plans and implements upgrades or installation of new components, if required. • Mentors less experienced team members. • Creates, develops, and reviews the physical model created from the logical model, ensuring compliance with standards and procedures. • Provides leadership support for application staff and business areas regarding complex database implementations. • Establishes automated monitor for space and database availability conditions. • Leads best practices for database and application high availability through third-party technologies. • Provides application support for staff and resolve complex problems related to DBMS technology. • Leads root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems impacting application availability. • Provides after hours and weekend support for on-call responsibilities. • Establishes and maintains technical standards, departmental procedures, and other documentation. • Leads technology training for application developers. • Participates in staff training for access and maintenance of shared data resources. • Maintains contacts with other DBA professionals to keep perspective on current trends.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma GED • 5-7 years in Information Technology • Preferred Vendor DBA Certifications for the relevant DBMS • Health insurance business knowledge. • Language (Other than English): None • Travel Requirement: 0% - 25%
