📋 Description

• The position is responsible for key duties related to the preparation, analysis and external audits of the financial statements for West Virginia University • Manages the development, preparation and analysis of the annual and interim financial statements • Responsible for trend analysis, variance analysis, internal and external reporting, forecasting and other tasks • Ensure that the financial statements and financial data recorded comply with GAAP • Responsible for managing accounting and reporting for leases and subscription agreements under GASB Statements

🎯 Requirements

• A Bachelor‘s degree in Accounting is required • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial operations of a complex organization • Master’s degree and/or Certified Public Accountant license will be considered when experience is less than five years • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered • In depth knowledge of accounting and financial reporting for state governments and public higher education • In depth knowledge of accounting for leases, financed purchases and subscription agreements • Demonstrated expert knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, comprehend and summarize a significant volume of detailed transactions
