• The CDC Foundation helps CDC save lives through collaboration for health protection. • Location: Remote, must be based in the United States • Salary Range: $103,500-$143,500 per year, plus benefits. Individual salary offers will be based on experience and qualifications unique to each candidate. • Position Type: Grant funded, limited-term opportunity • Position End Date: June 30, 2025 • The Software Engineer will develop and maintain software applications to serve local, tribal, and territorial populations. • Working with the Marion County Public Health Department, strong programming skills and collaboration with teams is key. • Expertise in Umbraco for migrating and developing websites is ideal. • Transition existing WordPress websites to Umbraco, ensuring data security and user experience. • Requires strong experience with C#.NET, Bootstrap, SQL, JQuery, REST APIs, and developmental tools. • Eligible for fully remote work arrangement for U.S. based candidates.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience • Experience and proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript. • Experience with software development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js). • Experience and proficiency in web development, relational databases, and using Unix-like operating systems. • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, MongoDB) and version control tools (e.g., Git). • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying software applications. • Knowledge of engineering best practices such as source control, automated testing, continuous integration and deployment, and peer review. • Experience with agile development methodologies, software design patterns, and best practices. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Experience and ability conveying technical concepts to non-technical partners effectively. • Ability to analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions. • Experience working on cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams that deliver digital products and services in an incremental, user-focused environment. • Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities. • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; and the ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues and partners. • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within teams. • Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
