📋 Description

• Support Ciena’s Network Management Applications, SDN and Network Design Tools • Key focus on Navigator Network Control Suite • Ensure engineering readiness for the deployment of solutions in the field • Develop and present technical deliverables for new product features • Work side-by-side with customer technical experts to test Ciena technology • Create customer-specific documentation and execute customer acceptance test cases • Interface with customers to assess their needs and collaborate with Product Management team • Lead lab engineering activities such as installing, configuring, integrating, and testing Navigator Multi-layer Controller • Capture product issues and customer requests for enhancements • Develop technical documents, test plans, knowledge transfer charts, videos explaining product architecture and capabilities • Support account teams with pre- and post-sales engineering activities

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science (or related discipline) • Solid Optical networking knowledge of telecommunication transport systems, optical engineering concepts and ROADM technologies (Fixed and Flex grid networks, L0 Control plane, coherent modems) • Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux Operating Systems • Good knowledge of virtualized and cloud environments (VMware ESXi, OpenStack, GCP), cloud-based application deployment techniques and container services (Docker, Ansible, etc.) • Understanding of Micro-Services software architectures • Database knowledge (Cassandra, MySQL), experience with messaging services (Kafka), experience with Monitoring Technologies (Nagios, Grafana) • Experience with REST API interfaces and tools (Swagger, Postman), NETCONF/YANG, XML, Python • Understanding of Security, Radius authentication, etc. • Understanding of SDN and Network Management / Automation / Orchestration concepts • Knowledge of AT&T Operations Support Systems would be an asset • Understanding of Agile / DevOps, continuous development, integration and deployment • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and internal / external customers • Ability to create / present presentations and articulate complex ideas • Successful practical problem solving, excellent written and interpersonal communication, and documentation skills • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize tasks.
