Description

• Draft communications materials including press releases, polling memos, fact sheets and other desired written content quickly and on tight deadlines. • Review and edit all outbound communications materials for content, spelling, style, format and grammar. • Ensure that content is inclusive and accessible for diverse audiences, including adherence to best practices for cultural competency and accessibility. • Build and maintain a content calendar for outbound communications materials and coordinate with other teams across Climate Power. • Coordinate with Climate Power’s research team to perform research and fact-checking. • Provide guidance to other staff members on writing conventions and style. • Work with the Managing Director of Communications and the full team to write and edit communications materials.

Requirements

• 5 years of relevant prior work experience in communications and editing. • 2 years of people and/or project management experience; demonstrated success in leading departments and diverse teams and managing complex projects. • Must be able to work independently, but also collaboratively with diverse groups of people, communities, and partners. • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities. • Adept at long-form and short-form writing. • Excellent grasp of grammar and spelling. • Proven research and fact-checking skills. • Proactive and energetic disposition. • A keen eye for detail and quality writing. • Organized and meticulous about their work. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workplace.
