• The Cloudburst Group is a leader in applying advanced data analytics concepts to guide and strengthen government programming in the areas of housing, homelessness, gender-based violence, and community and economic development. • Through applied data science, we help our customers transform data into intelligence- and questions into answers. • The Data Scientist (Analyst Level) will leverage 3-5 years of data science experience and work as part of a team to achieve efficiencies in managing the flow, extraction, and transformation of national program data primarily for the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program. • HOPWA is the only Federal program dedicated to meeting the housing needs of low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. • General tasks to be undertaken by the Data Scientist (Analyst Level) include: Cleaning, janitoring, merging, and management of data from various sources. • Supporting the collection, aggregation, synthesis, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of data. • Performing analysis using several analytical software packages, such as STATA or R. • Conducting exploratory data analysis to understand the underlying patterns, trends, and relationships in the data. • Create hypotheses and identify potential areas for deeper analysis or modeling. • Using analytics methods to extract value from business data. • Contributing to a vision and roadmap for the utilization and management of data on client projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, software engineering, or related field with 3-5 years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 1-2 years of related work experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire others. • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Stata, R, or Java. • Familiar with SQL and Power BI preferred. • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. • Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences. • Ability to pass a federal background check. • Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently as a team player is required. • Willingness to collaborate and work in remote team settings is required.
