Description

This is a fully remote role for candidates who are based outside of the New York Metropolitan area. • Energy storage is the key to unlocking a future where our world is powered by renewable resources. • The Pre-Construction Engineer will perform development stage engineering and project management, optimize our systems, develop standards, and mentor staff within the distributed generation and utility-scale markets. • This role will exercise leadership skills and provide different perspectives on issues to support design engineering and pre-construction project management.

Requirements

Required Qualifications • 4+ years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, or similar position, working with and leading engineering projects. • 2+ years of experience designing PV and BESS. • Ability to Project Manage and lead a project team through the development phase of standardized projects • Intermediate in project scheduling • Beginner to intermediate level of project costing/ budgeting experience • Knowledge of national electric and building codes. • Intermediate understanding of system design, products, engineering, and optimization concepts for PV and BESS systems ranging from 5MW AC to 50MW+ AC. • Intermediate ability to project manage and design multiple projects, coordinating the efforts of multiple stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, vendors, customers, utilities, permitting authorities, and professional engineers and disseminating that into a comprehensive critical path schedule • Intermediate proficiency with industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVCase, PVSyst, PVBid, Salesforce, MS Office Suite, or reasonable equivalents) • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills. • Excitement about growing along with a fast-paced, dynamic company; comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when the path forward is undefined. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. • NABCEP Certification a plus. • Experience in both behind the meter (existing infrastructure) and mid to large scale greenfield Utility-scale PV and BESS development (100+ MW) experience a plus. • A passion for renewable energy, addressing the climate crisis, and accelerating clean energy transformation.
