• About Us • Our mission at dataplor is to comprehensively map and understand every commercial location on the planet. • We provide insights on every merchant in the world, covering 350M+ businesses and places, empowering organizations with high-quality location intelligence to drive strategic decision-making. • After more than doubling our revenue last year, we closed a Series B. • We are excited to grow the team and take this rocketship to the next level! • Role Overview • We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Internal Platform team—a foundational group focused on infrastructure, developer experience, and platform reliability. • You’ll manage a small team of engineers building the systems that power our entire product development organization. • This is a player/coach role: you’ll lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team, while also contributing hands-on to key projects involving Ruby, PostgreSQL, and AWS. • You’ll help shape our internal tooling, DevOps strategy, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to improve how we build and ship software at scale.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, including leading teams in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform contexts. • Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL in production environments. • Solid experience with Heroku and AWS (e.g., ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPCs) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or similar). • Proven ability to build and lead small teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management. • Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-paced product teams. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—you know how to translate technical details into business impact. • A bias for simplicity, automation, and empowering developers through great tools and systems.
