• Deep Sky is the world’s first gigaton-scale carbon removal project developer. • We build carbon removal infrastructure projects and sell carbon credits to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 from the Earth’s atmosphere. • We have strong fundamentals: Expert at complex market systems and finding product-market fit. • Proven success in scaling startups and operating sophisticated businesses. • Strong relationship with capital markets, government, and regional communities in Canada. • We envision a future where tech-based carbon removal projects are the benchmark for premium durable and measurable carbon removal. • Carbon removal facilities are considered everyday infrastructure; appreciated for their vital service and light footprint. • Our mission is to develop and implement scalable solutions for direct air and ocean capture systems. • We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to aid in the design and engineering of this state-of-the-art facility. • You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical and control systems for our cutting-edge Deep Sky Labs testing facility. • Your expertise will ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of various sensors and meters used in industrial processes. • Familiarity with calibration procedures and standards. • Experience in designing and implementing control systems. • Understanding of data acquisition and analysis for process optimization. • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in industrial settings. • Problem-solving skills for addressing issues related to sensor malfunctions or inaccuracies. • Collaboration skills for working with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, control systems engineering, or related fields. A Master’s degree or higher is preferred. • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, with a strong preference for experience in the chemical process industry, renewable energy, or environmental technology sectors. • Proficient in the design and operation of PLC-based control systems and virtual PLCs. • Strong working knowledge of P&ID drawings and chemical processes in an industrial environment. • Strong expertise with process tooling, equipment, instrumentation data and acquisition. • Experience with data analysis and performance optimization of complex systems. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to tackling technical challenges. • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Commitment to sustainability and passion for making a positive impact on the environment.
