Description

• Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. • The Apps team, within Platform Ecosystem, empowers external developers to build creative and diverse experiences for our users. • Millions of people use apps on Discord every day to play games with friends, manage communities, listen to music, and so much more. • Participate at all levels of ideation, implementation and release. • Collaborate with design, product and other engineers to introduce new features used by our 200M+ monthly active users.

Requirements

• 7+ years full-stack experience. We’re a multi-platform team, so it’s important to understand the development frameworks and fundamentals of our web platform (React, TypeScript) and backend (Python and a little bit of Rust). • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionally. • Comfort working with ambiguity and get excited about working collaboratively to better define complex problems, figure out solutions, and then execute on them. • Act as a problem-solver, not just a developer. Participate at all levels of ideation, implementation and release. • A sense of ownership. You believe in solving a problem completely rather than simply shipping a solution. You can operate autonomously. • You actively seek out opportunities to mentor, coach, and sponsor other engineers in their career growth.
