• Fortitude Re is a leading provider of legacy reinsurance solutions. • Responsible for leading tax planning and analysis workstreams. • Provide strategic tax advice to Senior Management and the Board. • Manage taxable income and effective tax rate projection processes. • Liaison with FP&A and Strategic Finance. • Oversee tax-focused competitor analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications is a plus • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Taxation) is a plus • Minimum of 12 to 15 years’ tax experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm (Big 4 audit firm) • Insurance tax experience and familiarity with tax issues for multinational financial institutions is required • Proven experience in managing tax compliance, tax provision, and tax planning functions • Experience in a leadership or senior managerial role within the tax function • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills • Proficiency in tax software and financial systems • Must have strong issue identification skills • Must possess efficiency, honest/integrity, organizational, and planning skills • Must follow-through on commitments; be intelligent, and possess strong analytical skills • Attention to detail, proactive, flexibility/adaptability, and enthusiastic • Strong work ethic, listening skills, openness to criticism and new ideas • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to articulate complex issues/themes to the Head of Tax and Senior Management • Foster a collaborate team environment and work effectively with Fortitude’s various tax teams and other departments in the company and its outside advisors
