Description

• Provation is looking for an experienced hands-on data scientist to continue building the culture of innovation at Provation. • The right candidate has active hands-on data science experience who can also articulate data insights and technical concepts to executive audiences. • The Data Scientist role requires the ability to develop innovative solutions, perform risk analysis, and be comfortable working in a rapid, fail-fast environment as well as provide a vision for future data science products and capabilities. • Drive execution and play a vital role in building a culture of innovation at Provation. • Assist with growing organization-wide data science capabilities. • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and customers to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end review that include: data gathering, review, scaled deliverables, recommendations and presentations to stakeholders. • Contribute to a wide variety of technical projects using natural language processing, statistical analysis, machine-learning, and other forms of analytical modeling. • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with project objectives. • Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure efficient progress and successful outcomes. • Translate data science model impacts, insights, and methodologies into accessible language for non-technical team members. • Assist in building and maintaining a data governance framework. • Foster a culture of understanding and appreciation for data-driven decision-making across the organization. • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in computer-science/information-theory/language-technologies or a related field is required, and a Master or PhD is preferred. • 5+ years of related experience. • Proven track record of success in applying data science techniques to real-world business problems. • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and familiarity with data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, matplotlib, seaborn). • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and statistical modeling. • Experience with big data technologies and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud computing services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex problems. • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of data scientists. • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, project coordination, and communication within a data science or related technical environment. • Proficiency in conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
