Description

Own and drive business-critical product areas including live video streaming, scorekeeping, fan experiences, and team management throughout our backend services. Develop and maintain scalable, robust, and efficient backend services. Lead Coach Crew team projects by collaborating with EM, PM, Design, QA, and other engineers across the company. Drive changes to our API and SDK to facilitate server/client communication. Collaborate on architectural decisions to ensure productivity + efficiency as our backend codebase grows. Improve existing systems' performance, reliability, scalability, and develop new features. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure system security and data privacy compliance. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge. Create and maintain technical documentation for reference and reporting.

Requirements

Experience scaling a codebase to a large number of users and engineers. Track record of successful projects utilizing Typescript and Node.js or another backend technology. Experience writing scalable, performant server-side code. A leader, willing to take ownership for the success of the team. Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to communicate solutions clearly. Strong background of successfully mentoring engineers. Enjoys building a collaborative atmosphere to create solutions to complex problems. 5+ years in a software development role. 3+ years experience with Node.js or another backend technology. 1+ years experience leading and implementing complex designs. Experience with TypeScript is preferred. Experience with a system deployed in an AWS environment is preferred.
