• The quality of the work that we do every day matters tremendously to our customers and our business. • To support engineering’s commitment to Quality, this individual will act as a Controls Quality Engineer. • This engineer will work closely with a diverse set of functional groups and Controlled Title Holders to achieve operational excellence and apply quality principles and techniques to Controls Engineering processes across GE Gas Power. • Support response to front-line customers who feel the pain when we deliver poor quality. • Drive continuous improvement upstream into our processes across all of Engineering, including integration with CSS business line. • Work customer escapes from receipt through closure, including tying customer escapes back to process gaps. • Improve our engineering quality execution but also the more broader Gas Power Quality workstreams. • Support day to day Quality Operations for an organization of 900+ engineers located worldwide. • Coordinate necessary QMS auditing activities across Controls Engineering to support ISO accreditation, including management and planning of desk side and process audits, quality framework audits, and LRQA. • Identify Confluence page gaps and content updates (verbiage updates per ISO guidelines). • Support Controls quality MOR (Monthly Operating Review). • Partner with broader Corporate, Gas Power & Gas Power Engineering quality community to drive a culture of zero-defect culture among the Controls Engineering People Leaders focused on Servant Leadership, Customer Focus and Employee Empowerment. • Broaden the application of problem solving (root cause analysis) and continuous improvement tools in a way that will improve quality, efficiency, capacity, and process reliability. • Drive continued adoption and enhancement of Power Now tool for ER, NCR, and RCAs, and it’s integration with CLM and potential integration with PLM so that GPE can see all work in one tool. • Maintain and improve daily management of quality through use of CLM and Power Now dashboards and queries. • Enable and empower the Controls Engineering resources to identify opportunities and locally act upon to drive quality improvements. • Celebrate and share Controls Engineering quality lessons learned and recognize success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college • Minimum 8 years Engineering experience • Strong analytical skills; data-driven but decisive despite ambiguity • Customer-focused with clear, concise written and oral communications to the appropriate level • Experience in the power generation industry • Demonstrated ability to coach and teach others • Practical knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and tools • Appropriate experience driving quality improvement, preferably within an Engineering organization • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in a large, globally matrixed organization • Comfortable with conflict but leads as a collaborator, facilitator and strong partner • Critical, systems thinker with the ability to bring others along, even those with conflicting priorities
