• Blade Repair Engineers support a global team responsible for providing support to our customers and technical field teams in day to day blade wind turbine blade repair. • Evaluation of operational risk of severely damaged blades • Developing specific repair solutions • Technical support to field related root cause investigations and quality improvement projects • Input to, and review of field solutions and related instructions with a focus on safety, quality, and cycle time • Implementation of field solutions and methods, including training of internal and external blade technicians. • Play an important role in our effort to develop, implement and support our larger wind services strategy related to blade health management. • Strive to find and operationalize cutting edge technology along with common sense problem solving to best serve our larger wind team and customer base.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related discipline • Minimum of 5 years of experience in composite engineering • Understanding of wind turbine operations and maintenance • Written and Oral communication skills in English • Technical writing capability specific to the generation and upkeep of procedures • Ability and willingness to travel • Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines and work at heights • Field Experience directly performing wind turbine blade repairs or supervising them • Repair or quality certification experience in wind turbine blade manufacturing • Group problem solving and collaboration skills • Attention to detail with a high standard of quality • Knowledge of lifting, rigging and tooling and associated health and safety requirements
