• Associate Counsel – Leasing will be primarily responsible for supporting the leasing functions with respect to GreenPeak clients’ retail portfolio of commercial real estate assets, and representing GreenPeak’s clients in connection with negotiating, drafting, revising, and finalizing all lease related transactions, including new leases, amendments, renewals, and modifications. • This position has no direct reports and will report directly to GreenPeak’s General Counsel. • Skillfully draft, review, and negotiate lease documents, including, without limitation, new leases, modifications, amendments, extensions, consents, terminations, and estoppels for new and existing tenants. • Collaborate with leasing department, asset management, and construction to confirm follow-through on lease obligations, such as landlord obligations to delivery, landlord construction obligations, and landlord tenant improvement obligations. • Draft, review and negotiate project management, construction management and other vendor contracts such as brokerage, consulting, architecture and construction agreements in connection with leases at new and existing assets. • Collaborate with asset management and property management on review and interpretation of lease clauses and landlord-tenant dispute resolution. • Assist with landlord-tenant matters and vendor agreements. • Collaborate with outside counsel, where applicable. • Collaborate with different departments across GreenPeak and its clients to further the company’s annual performance goals. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the legal department.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate is required, and admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction to practice law • At least 3-4 years’ experience as an attorney in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, with a strong focus towards retail leasing. • First-chair experience on leasing transactions, and the ability to take initiative and independently lead lease negotiations with little guidance • Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials • Strong project and time management skills, the ability to identify and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment, and the bandwidth to support multiple sophisticated transactions at the same time, across various geographies and time zones • Should be highly organized, enthusiastic, dedicated, motivated, and a self-starter who takes pride in his or her work product • Excellent written, oral and communication skills • Able to work collaboratively across various departments. • EST / CST availability preferred.
