Description

• Provide excellent service to IGEL’s retail customers and partners • Serve as the primary technical contact for new retail customers from discovery to post-sales handover • Build and maintain customer and partner rapport through virtual meetings and on-site visits • Analyze customer needs and develop technical solutions tailored to the retail sector • Prepare, execute, and support proof of concepts • Take ownership of technical RFIs, RFPs, and public tenders and respond in a timely manner • Work on complex projects, architecting solutions in collaboration with customers and partners while adhering to IGEL reference architecture and best practices • Assist new technology partners in integrating their solutions into IGEL OS and hand over to the IGEL Ready team to generate new business • Become a subject matter expert in a specific technology stack relevant to the retail sector • Use remote tools to demonstrate IGEL’s solutions and assist customers in troubleshooting issues • Ensure clear and professional communication between teams and customers • Proactively prepare, execute, and follow up on technical product presentations and workshops • Demonstrate technology at industry events and trade shows • Promote IGEL training offerings, additional services, and certifications • May assist less-experienced colleagues • Exercise wide latitude for independent judgment • Collaborate with Development, Customer Engineering, Advanced Services, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to create new technical sales strategies • Communicate customer and market requirements to Product Management and Development • Continue education by attending training sessions and reading technical documentation • Work through technical issues at the operating system level • Manage technical issues, solutions, and sales opportunity progress through IGEL’s helpdesk system • Manage case escalation to maintain forward movement on sales opportunities

Requirements

• Minimum of six to nine years of PreSales Engineer experience • Working knowledge of Linux Operating Systems • In-depth knowledge of IGEL’s products and solutions, especially IGEL OS, the Universal Management Suite, and the IGEL Cloud Gateway, or other Thin Client/Endpoint operating systems is a plus • Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems • Experience in Remote Desktop Services, Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS, Citrix, VMware Horizon environments • Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, AD, etc. • Good understanding of solutions offered by IGEL’s technology partners • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with engineers, sales teams, and management • Strong presentation skills • Team player who builds good working relationships across all levels • Flexibility, integrity, and creative problem-solving skills • Ability to explain complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner • Effective communication via phone and email • Good listening skills and patience when working with customers, colleagues, and partners • Adaptability to new technologies • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Effective note-taking and multitasking skills • Positive work ethic • Fluent language skills in both German and English
