Description

• Independence American Insurance Company (IAIC) is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to advance the predictive modeling and visualization capabilities of the actuarial department for a leading pet insurer • Apply best practices to prepare and manage datasets • Develop predictive models for rating, conversion, and retention purposes • Create data visualizations in platforms such as Power BI and Radar • Lead data and visualization initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field with relevant work experience • 5+ years of experience in a data science role, preferable in the insurance industry (P&C) • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience in data manipulation and statistical analysis • Experience with SQL Server and Snowflake • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools • Experience with WTW’s Radar suite, including Radar Base and Emblem • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects with strong prioritization skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail
