Description

• The Underwriting Assistant will assist and support the Underwriting team in providing exceptional customer service levels for policyholders, agents/brokers, and internal customers. • Under general supervision, handle policy processing for new business, renewals, and ongoing account maintenance. • This position should also demonstrate strong analytical and interpersonal skills in addition to outstanding customer service skills. • Collaborates with Sales to build, strengthen, and manage relationships with agents/brokers • Brings a curious mindset and motivation to better understand and apply a new, data driven approach to Underwriting • Responsible for providing the highest level of accuracy and support to the Underwriting Team throughout the new business lifecycle and ongoing renewal account maintenance. • Performs initial review, triage, and processing of new business and renewal submissions. • Work with the IT and Product Teams to troubleshoot, coordinate, and communicate system problems. • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and consistently meet processing deadlines per Underwriting Service Standards. • Support Underwriting Team in the production, selection, pricing, control, and servicing of insurance policies using Indigo’s model • Understands and complies with regulatory requirements, Patient Compensation Fund (PCF) rules and unique requirements
