• The Instructure Manager of NORAM K-12 Product Communications is responsible for marketing the edtech company’s K-12 programs, products, and services to EdTech industry publications as well as top-tier media outlets. • This role requires a fearless public relations expert who loves to build media relationships and can demonstrate a career of successful media engagement and placements. • This media guru role sits within the marketing organization reporting to the VP of Global Communications. • The manager will maintain responsibility of many K-12-specific communications functions directing our approach to thought leadership, product messaging, product announcements, creating story packages to appeal to the media, and growing our K-12 product brand awareness. • This person is also responsible for building relationships with media and industry influencers, pitching product-focused story ideas, writing press releases, coordinating with an external PR agency, and reporting on media coverage and trends. • This person will also be responsible for producing Instructure’s podcasts, EduCast 3000 and Bamboo Beat, as well as maintaining the awards process for the company.

Requirements

• Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or journalism • 5+ years of experience in public relations or a comparable field. • Proven track record of securing industry and top-tier media coverage. • Ability to build relationships with educational and top-tier media outlets/sources. • Strong research, writing, and editing skills. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Flair for visual storytelling with excellent presentation and delivery skills. • Excellent program management skills, supervise and measure program performance, and make constant improvements. • Experience working in a global matrixed organization, leading virtual, multi-cultural teams to achieve desired goals. • Outstanding organizational and time management skills • Aptitude in presentation and public speaking • Attention to details • Experience using Meltwater and other newswire services • A self-starter who is driven by success, with the ability to manage programs proactively without receiving step-by-step instructions and guidance • Ability to track outcomes and work toward KPIs.
