Description
• Expertise in design and drafting standards, preferably in Process Industrial facilities and/or Life Science facilities. • Leading projects, including defining project scope, specifications, and design criteria. • Leading a team of designers. • Developing and drafting moderately complex piping drawings using basic information such as P&ID’s, GA’s, piping specifications, and equipment drawings. • Performing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel, and assist in construction. • Preparing material take-offs from piping drawings. • Planning and managing site design activities for optimum results. • Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly. • Providing on-site assistance during startup.
Requirements
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting, or equivalent industry experience. • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design. • Knowledge and application of piping materials. • Knowledge and application of piping supports and restraints. • Knowledge of manual valve sizing, use, and application. • Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment. • Ability to create accurate mechanical/piping installation documents from vendor equipment drawings. • Understanding of workflow/information flow between disciplines. • Understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all mechanical/piping deliverables. • Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks. • Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Ability to work effectively in virtual teams and develop cross-divisional relationships, providing interoffice execution support under general supervision.
